Frequently asked questions

No. Reverse explains your app in plain language, and you make changes by describing them the same way. The one thing you do need is your app’s code on GitHub, and we’ll show you how to connect it.

Not unless you want it to. Because Reverse works through GitHub, it sits alongside whatever else touches your code, whether that’s Lovable, v0, Cursor, or a developer you work with. Switch between them anytime.

No. Nothing ships on its own. Every change comes with a summary and a preview, which the person who runs it clicks through before it goes live. Changes go live when an Owner ships them, or when a workspace member with Editor access ships them, unless an Owner has turned that ability off.

Reverse reads your code to build its map of your app. When you ask for a change, it works on a separate branch, which is a real branch, with real commits, pushed to your repository. Those commits are authored by the Reverse bot, and the pull request names the person who asked for the change. Your default branch isn’t touched until someone ships it. If you turn on documentation sync for a project, Reverse also opens a pull request in the background to keep the docs in your repo up to date; that one is opened by Reverse itself rather than by a person, so no teammate is named on it, and it can only be merged in GitHub.

We don’t republish your code anywhere. To answer a question or make a change, Reverse sends the files it needs to our AI providers, which process them under our accounts and don’t use your code for training, and runs the agent in an isolated sandbox. If you bring your own AI key, that provider’s terms govern what it does with your code. If an Owner or an Editor turns on a public share link for a project, from the Documentation tab, the documentation we generate for that project — including file paths, function and entity names, and short excerpts of code — is open to anyone with the link, including a plain-text copy of the same page at the same address with /llms.txt on the end, which search crawlers can index, until you revoke it. Team collaboration is included in Reverse through shared workspaces. A workspace Owner invites teammates and sets each one’s role — Owner, Editor, or Viewer. Editors can also create an invite link, and choose whether the person joining takes the Editor or the Viewer role.

Yes — with a teammate in your workspace. Share a thread and they get their own forked copy to ask follow-up questions, picking up right where you left off. The link works only for the person you share it with, and only while they’re in your workspace. A copy they have already opened stays in their own account, and isn’t removed if they later leave the workspace.

Yes. Your workspace Owner connects Slack, and Owners and Editors map each channel to a repository. Anyone in your workspace can tag @Reverse in a mapped channel and get a plain-language answer grounded in that repository’s code. The answer is posted in the channel, so everyone in that channel can read it — including people who aren’t in your Reverse workspace. Map channels with that in mind. A question asked in Slack draws down the credits of the workspace that owns the mapped repository, whoever asks it.

Every change goes through a preview in Reverse first, so problems can be caught early. If something does slip through, every change is saved in GitHub’s history, so you can roll back to the version that worked.

During the pilot period, everyone will get 20,000 free credits. Once you’re ready for more usage, you have two options:

  1. Pay as you go. Credit bundles start at $10.
  2. Bring-your-own-key pilot access. A one-time payment of $20 for the full pilot experience, using your own Anthropic (Claude) API key for your workspace, until the pilot is complete.
